HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA  - The Community Action on Homelessness, together with Brunswick Street United Church, held a memorial service to remember people who were homeless who are no longer with us.  The first day of winter has been designated as a day to remember homeless people who have died.

The Memorial was held at Brunswick Street United Church at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 21, 2005.  The general public, at large, was invited to attend the Memorial and to light a candle to remember those who have died and to hope for a brighter future for those who are at risk.

The Community Action on Homelessness is a steering committee of local agencies and government representatives working together to address the issue of homelessness in the greater Halifax area.
